Philip Hayden Summer Update

While many things are still being prayerfully determined, Grace Campus continues its ongoing commitment to sponsoring children in both Uganda and China. For those of you who partner with us via Give Grace, thanks for joining us in helping care for these children.  Below you’ll find the latest on our children at Philip Hayden.

Give grace

When the GiveGrace campaign began in the fall of 2007, our desire was to put a practical way to connect changing the world and supporting Grace Campus within reach for Auburn students. We were astounded by the response.

One of the dilemmas of relocating our ministry to the other side of the world has been: “what about Give Grace?” If you recall, here was the breakdown.

  • 30% reaching (child sponsorship)
  • 30% equipping (equipping alumni to serve around the world)
  • 30% investing (local ministry in auburn)
  • 10% operating. (overhead)

Currently, about 50% of the Give Grace income goes to child sponsorships. The remaining 50% will go towards our efforts in Hong Kong. We believe reallocating those funds in that way, remains true to the original intent of Give Grace.

So, the bottom line — is that we are committed to the children and to the gospel going forth in all the earth.

Having met these children and actually visiting these orphanages, we want to continue these relationships. So, on this blog, you will continue to see their updates and photos… like this - We recently received word that Andrew, one of the children we sponsor in China — just got adopted. This is a huge deal. We celebrate with his new family. Congratulations!

Leaving for China, Finally

I’ve been through three weeks of intensive culture and teacher training in Southern California and now i couldn’t be more ready to get on that plane and get back to China. I’m leaving tomorrow, the 23rd, and will arrive in Beijing, China on the 24th. My classes are set and a new team of Americans will be at the school to greet me. I’m eagerly awaiting this next season of life in China.

My summer in America was everything i needed it to be, but now i’m ready to dive back into my relationships in China. I’m excited to build deep friendships and share my life of hope and joy with my students and colleagues.

There are also some exciting new opportunities coming up in the next few months that i can’t wait to tell you about. I’ll be blogging regularly here at the Give Grace blog, but if you want to follow more of my day-to-day life in China then follow along at biscuet.com.

Thank you for your partnership in this initiative to take light and love into some of the darkest places on the planet. I appreciate you being here on this journey with me.
