Spoons & fellowship

Every Thursday night, we come together at Matt and April’s to share a meal and…life. No agendas, no schedules or tasks; just fellowship and food.
You guessed it, potato soup was on the menu this week with pumpkin cobbler and ice cream to finish it off. Rest assured moms and dads, we are getting the recommended amount of homemade meat and veggies at least once a week! Thursday nights are seen as intentional recharging/resting time for each of us as well as an environment to cultivate those newer friendships among us. It is evident that unity is growing and it’s only making us sharper as individuals. Edifying Christ’s unique craftsmanship in each of us, silences the enemy, brings light to the darkness and spurs us on to humbly carry His love well.
What’s beautiful about all this? I can honestly say that if one of us were not serving in the capacity that we are currently, a void would be extremely obvious. The Lord knew our needs as a team in order to best serve those around us. He knew it all before Asia was even on anyone’s radar. It is proof of His faithfulness to us.
On a lighter note, after everyone is stuffed and the games have been played and put away, something very spiritual happens…we watch The Office. Jason usually ends up rolling around on the floor due to laughing too hard. Mary falls asleep and Micah ends up quoting the entire episode because he’s already watched it, thus making Scott mad. Good times had by all.
